The Police Box is just past Croall Place on Leith Walk, halfway down.

It's a good news story for a local Edinburgh business, Leith Walk Police Box, which is celebrating ten years of pop-ups this year.  The box launched in 2015 to provide affordable, temporary space for businesses and start-ups.

Over the last decade, the box has helped several well-known Edinburgh businesses, organisations and charities to establish themselves, including Tipico Sicilian Confectionery, Banh mi Brothers, Hobz bakery and CalaCala food.  During the Winter, the box hosted a free monthly community meal with the support of Cyrenians Kitchen to combat loneliness.  Plus, it's been a 2-seater cinema, a public consultation and art exhibition space.  The business has survived the pandemic lockdown and the tramworks on Leith Walk.  Owner Monty Roy said:

'We are thrilled to be celebrating 10 years of helping business start ups fly,  thanks to our fantastic, supportive local community'.

This month, the box pop-ups include subsidised organic fruit and veg from local growers in a scheme called Bridging the Gap by Sustain Food Alliance in conjunction with Edinburgh Community Food, The Wee Baker GF baker, Smoked Tamago Japanese & Korean street food and El Dorado Taqueria for Mexican food and drink.
