Onion fritters at Celestia

Happy New Year, Biters!

How on earth is it already 16 January.

Two weeks have flown by since our last Nibble, so it felt like the right moment to check back in.

Things are already heating up on the hospitality front, and we’re buzzing for what the year ahead has in store.

Where we sipped & savoured

A few highlights from our recent wanderings:

Mrs Bite at The Dreel Tavern, Mowgli & Celestia

A day trip to the East Neuk led to the charming Dreel Tavern in Anstruther, followed by the first city outing of the year at Mowgli. And because January calls for comfort, there was more Indian food at Celestia — their lunchtime deal is a cracker.

Liz at Hawksmoor

Liz visited for the Steak + Side deal (running until 31 January) and, naturally, couldn’t resist a few extras.

Diana at Roti King

Diana attended the opening of Roti King at 8 South St Andrew Street last night. Today and tomorrow (Jan 16 & 17) they have a pay-what-you-like deal across the whole menu (exc. alcohol)

If there’s somewhere you think deserves a little more love, drop us a line — we genuinely adore discovering new spots through you.

Fresh on the scene

Cate landed an exclusive for Bite with Giovanna Eusebi in Glasgow and will be visiting the newly opened Kochchi sometime soon.

Reservations

  • Liz & Mrs Bite are off to Lochwinnoch to dine with the Renfrewshire Macaroni Cheese Club.

  • Breakfast at Dishoom.

  • Martinis at Dine, then dinner at Hoi An.

  • And a trip to Jackton Distillery - the independent and female-led distillery will uncork the first ever RAER Single Malt Scotch Whisky for tasting. We will report back.
