Neighbourgood Market is set to transform the Ross Bandstand into Neighbourgood Gardens this summer, bringing independent Scottish food and drink traders, Cold Town Brewery pours and daily live performances to Princes Street Gardens from 23 July to 31 August 2026.

The organisers of Neighbourgood Market in Stockbridge have been awarded the Ross Bandstand in Princes Street Gardens by the City of Edinburgh Council for up to four years.

Suitably called ‘Neighbourgood Gardens’, the operators from Stockbridge will be running the bandstand from the 23 July to the 31 August 2026.

Following their similar concept in Stockbridge, Neighbourgood Gardens will feature independent, Scottish food and drink traders, as well as performances every day on the bandstand by visiting groups and artists through the festival period.

Edinburgh's Cold Town Brewery is also supporting Neighbourgood Gardens, building on its successful partnership with the team at their original Stockbridge site.

Named after Calton Hill — just a short walk from the new location — visitors to Neighbourgood Gardens will be able to enjoy a wide range from Cold Town Brewery’s award-winning beer portfolio, bringing a locally brewed Edinburgh beer offering to one of the city’s most iconic outdoor venues.

Preston Mommsen of Neighbourgood Market said:

“We're really excited to be awarded this iconic venue underneath Edinburgh Castle. Princes Street Gardens is a wonderful location and we are working hard with Cold Town Brewery to ensure we add to the overall offering of the gardens with local, Scottish food, drink and musical performances”.

Margaret Graham, Culture and Communities Convenor at the City of Edinburgh Council said:

“The Ross Bandstand and West Princes Street Gardens are among our most iconic cultural and historic public spaces, right in the heart of Edinburgh, and we’re eager that they continue to be enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. With a strong line-up of performances and a range of independent food and drink traders, Neighbourgood Gardens will be a welcome addition to the venue.”

Irma Jansen of Cold Town Brewery said:

“We're absolutely thrilled to be extending our partnership with the team behind Neighbourgood Market at this exciting new location, Neighbourgood Gardens. As an Edinburgh-based brewery, it’s fantastic to see Cold Town’s beers being served in such a landmark setting during one of Edinburgh’s busiest and most exciting times of the year”.

Neighbourgood Gardens will be open 7 days per week, from 11am to 10pm. The venue will be hosting free to enter musical performances each day, Fringe finale shows, a youth music day in collaboration with charitable organisations, and much more to be announced.
