Languedoc Wine Tastings & Tours

For over two decades, La Garrigue was more than a restaurant—it was a love letter to the Languedoc, tucked into the heart of Edinburgh. Under Jean-Michel’s care, the restaurant became a haven for rustic French cooking, generous hospitality, and unforgettable wine.

Now, with the restaurant closed, he turns the page and invites friends old and new to join him in celebrating the next chapter: one rooted in the vineyards of Faugères and the stories they inspire.

Jean-Michel started a small vineyard, Domaine des Pierres Sèches, in the Languedoc region of the South of France several years ago and when Mrs Bite met him for coffee, he said:

" I spent an idyllic late summer on the grape harvest and returning to the Scottish Winter is a bit of a shock to the system. However, I have some excellent wines from my vineyard and cannot wait to show them at the various tastings I have organised."

Never one to rest on his laurels, Jean-Michel Gauffre has a full schedule of French wine tasting events lined up—bringing his signature warmth and Languedoc flair to new settings across Scotland.
