It's Martini Negroni Time!

One part Campari, one part gin and one part vermouth: that's the secret of the iconic Italian aperitif. To celebrate this classic Contini in George St teamed up with Martini and organised a negroni party with Martini based cocktails. For the occasion Martini introduced to the Edinburgh market the Riserva Speciale Rubino and Ambrato. Both vermouths are still produced in Torino following the original recipe.

The drink list for the night offered Martini Negroni, Ambrato Sbagliato and Martini Riserva and Tonic all accompanied by an elegant and genuine selection of Italian nibbles.
As a nod the Scottish Italian connection Martini i used Edinburgh gin for their Negroni but we found that the juniper notes  was overwhelmed the delicate taste of the vermouth. This happened again with the third cocktail which this time was the fault of the very decisive Fentimans tonic.

Contini recreated the vibe of an authentic Italian aperitivo with drinks music and food in the city. We can't wait to see where this liquid collaboration between Contini and Martini will take us next!
