
One of Scotland’s most prominent chefs, Nick Nairn who owns Nick’s at Port of Menteith and Nick Nairn’s Cook School has revealed a stellar event programme for winter starting November. The lineup of events includes long table feasts, intimate chef’s table experience with Nick and Executive Chef Andy Turnball, plus the return of its renowned Christmas Market.

LONG TABLE FEASTS
The long table feasts throughout November are designed to celebrate international cuisine from some of Nick’s favourite countries. Held at the cook school guests will be welcomed with drinks and canapes as they watch the skilful chefs prepare a three-course meal.
1st November - Japan: Diners will be transported to the regions of Japan where the chefs will infuse a Japanese flare into the dishes to bring the flavours to life. The menu includes Okonomiyaki with homemade barbecue pork and king prawns to start, followed by Chicken yakitori, sticky Japanese rice, and, Japanese cucumber salad for the main course and Cotton cake with strawberries and strawberry syrup to finish.
2nd November - India: The menu will highlight dishes inspired by the north and the south to showcase the delicate flavours of Indian cuisine. The meal begins with Chicken tikka skewers with kuchumber and butter sauce, followed by a main course of Smoked pork vindaloo, steamed lime and coriander rice, and homemade chapati. For dessert, Mumbai mess with Alphonso mango syrup will be served.

22nd November and 23rd November - Mexico: A Mexican feast awaits guests with a menu that showcases BBQ king prawn taco, guacamole, pico de gallo and jalapeno and sour cream to star and Proper beef chilli, Mexican rice, queso fresco, coriander and lime for main. For dessert, there will be Tres leches cake, dulce de leche and whipped cream.
December 13th, 14th, 20th and 21st- Nick and his team will host a series of l festive Long Table Feasts celebrations. For £79 per person, guests will be treated to a hearty festive menu showcasing local Scottish produce, featuring seafood salad, beef wellington, and a glazed caramel tart. Alongside canapés and a glass of fizz, the long table feasts throughout December will set the perfect tone for the festive season.
CHEF’S TABLE
For those looking to host intimate gatherings, such as work Christmas parties or festive celebrations with family and friends, a Chef’s Table experience is available at the cook school. This exclusive offering includes a five-course tasting menu for just eight guests and will be available to book for the 15th and 16th of November. Priced at £125 per person, the Chef’s Table features a menu showcasing the finest festive ingredients. Highlight dishes will include roast turbot and spiced venison loin. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine and canapes before embarking on the tasting experience where each dish is personally introduced and explained by the chefs.
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR
The popular annual Christmas weekend at Port of Menteith is set for the 7th and 8th of December, offering visitors the chance to attend cooking demonstrations, shop for Christmas gifts at Home by Julia Nairn, and consider the gift of a Nick Nairn Cook School class for someone special. Guests can also simply relax and soak in the festive atmosphere while enjoying a festive lunch in the restaurant.
On New Year’s Eve, a Hogmanay celebration will take place, featuring a four-course meal, live music, and dancing under the stars in a stretch tent set in the garden. The event is priced at £115 per person.
