Local food with a sea view and an offer! Horizons restaurant in Fife.

20% off all food Tuesday-Thursday in September

The Horizons Restaurant & Waterfront Bar at the Bay Hotel and Pettycur Leisure Complex is a seafront restaurant on the Fife Coast.

The restaurant has a reputation for locally sourced, well-priced Scottish cuisine with a crowd-pleasing menu. Starters include dishes such as Stornoway Black Pudding Bon Bons and Jarlsberg Tart while for mains you can enjoy dishes like East Neuk Haddock and Chips, Scampi or Steak Pie. There is a grill menu featuring pulled pork, burgers and steaks. Customers that are gluten-free and/or vegetarian however may enjoy dishes like Lentil and Vegetable Stew and Three Bean Chilli. Food is served 12 noon to 9pm every day, so the restaurant works around your schedule.

Director Tommy Wallace said:

"Eat Out to Help Out was a massive success for us – we were very busy in our new look Horizons, with everything from snacks and lunches to High Teas.

"Now the promotion has ended, we wanted to offer something more for our customers who may want to dine at off-peak times. Those staying with us on the holiday park can take advantage, along with local people who choose us for a special family meal out or a quick lunch with friends. We are open to everyone, not just residents."

"Customers are requesting a wider choice in vegetarian and low gluten dishes," added Tommy, "and we have always been happy to lead the way locally in this provision."

"Our Head Chef, James McKay, works hard to deliver stand out menus and that extends to snacks, high teas and takeouts. Guests can pick up dishes to enjoy in their holiday homes."

"Our main evening menu is well-priced and has a real choice. Six out of eight starters are either vegetarian or low gluten options, as are six main courses, more if you include all the salads. Low gluten main courses include favourites, such as fish and chips, curry, macaroni, and the famous Bay Burger!"

The menu lists its local suppliers, with six out of seven being based in the Kingdom of Fife. Iconic names such as Fisher & Donaldson in St Andrews, Stuarts Bakery of Methil, and David Lowrie Fish Merchants of Pittenweem feature. Horizons is also looking forward to launching cocktails made with Pilgrims Gin from St Andrews.

"The provenance of ingredients has never been more important in the hospitality industry," said Tommy Wallace. "All customers expect the food to be locally sourced where possible.

"We are happy to oblige as we have many first-class suppliers here in the Kingdom, with Fife berries and locally caught haddock being amongst the best in the world."
