One Square in Edinburgh will host a special culinary event on Thursday 5th November featuring a five-star bespoke game menu accompanied with paired Rioja wines.  

The city-centre restaurant is collaborating with the wine experts from Don Jacobo based in Northern Spain.  On the night, Rioja wine specialist Brian Meacher will be in attendance to guide guests through an evening of fine wines and delicious food.  The handcrafted wines on offer hail from the vineyards of Bodegas Corral, a winery that has been run by the same family for 120 years.  Highlights on the night will include a fresh and fruity rosé, a red ecological wine produced from grapes using a sustainable organic process, and a Red Reserva. 

Craig Hart, the executive chef at One Square and the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, has created a tasty game menu to complement the wines. The menu demonstrates One Square's 
philosophy to showcase the season's finest produce including Scottish rabbit, pheasant sausage and Gressingham Duck, all presented with style and flair.
 
This night to remember on 5th November starts at 6.30pm with a pre-dinner Don Jacobo Rioja Blanco, followed by a five-course feast and Rioja wines. The dinner costs £55 per person and will be held in the Private Dining Room in One Square. Scottish rabbit and black pudding terrine with Arran wholegrain mustard, pickled girolles and roast beetroot

Wild mushroom consommé, pheasant sausage with acorn foam, cep powder and tarragon 
Paired with Don Jacobo Rioja Ecological 2011 

Sorbet of wild strawberry 

Roast duck breast, braised leg faggot, celeriac fondant, sprout leaves and bramble jus 
Paired with Don Jacobo Rioja Reserva 2007 

Chocolate, cherries and hazelnuts
Served with tea and coffee
