Steak Restaurant Host Christmas Eve Lunch for the Homeless

Following a very successful year and opening of the flagship restaurant Steak at No.12 Picardy Place in Edinburgh, they have teamed up with local charities and their local food suppliers to mark their first year by hosting a Christmas lunch for the homeless of Edinburgh on Christmas Eve as a way of giving back during the festive period.

Hosting the one off event on Christmas Eve, Head Chef Jason Wright together with his team of Chefs will prepare and cook a traditional Christmas lunch. Serving a three course menu including turkey with all the trimmings, followed by Christmas pudding, Jason Wright has teamed up with his local food suppliers to serve the feast for the homeless of Edinburgh.

Steak's main food suppliers have kindly donated all of the food for Christmas Eve including Gary Welch from Welch fishmongers, Peter Flockhart from Campbell's Prime Meat, Central Produce and John Bastianelli for the Christmas puddings.

They plan to seat 150 guests on Christmas Eve between 12-5pm working closely with select homeless charities and groups within the city including 6VT, Bethany Christine Trust and Cyrenian Charity.

Jason Wright, Head Chef of Steak Edinburgh commented: “Following the opening of our highly successful restaurant, we are delighted to work together with local charities and our food suppliers to offer Christmas dinner to the homeless of Edinburgh. Not everyone is lucky enough to enjoy Christmas and we have decided to host this as a way of giving back during the festive period. We have the restaurant, location, staff, Chefs and food and we couldn't think of a better way to work together on Christmas Eve."
