May is World Whisky Month  and A Room in the  West End, A Room in  Leith, Teuchters Bar and Teuchters Landing all have tastings!

Saturday 17th May is World Whisky Day and A Room in the  West End is showcasing an exciting four course menu with matched single malts £40.00 pp . 

There is an informal Talisker tasting in Teuchters Landing on Tuesday 13th  5.30pm

World Whisky Day Menu - Saturday 17th May 2014 

Dinner menu
Red  chard and toasted walnut salad, raspberry vinaigrette 
Pan fried wild boar fillet matched with Macallan Gold 
Salmon gravadlax dill scone, Lilliput caper and beetroot salsa matched with Highland Park 12y

Pan seared duck breast roast garlic and sage mash, calvados jus, carrot crisps 
Chargrilled tuna steak seaweed and chilli risotto cake, minted pea veloute 
Match either main course with Innis & Gunn whisky aged original beer or toasted oak IPA 
All meals served with fresh bread and butter and a side of steamed potatoes and vegetables - Vegetarian options are available on request

World Whisky Month May 2014 Tastings

Thursday 1st  Speyside- 6pm
The benchmark of big sherry-cask Speyside whiskies. Try two expressions from the new no-age-statement 1824 series, Macallan Gold and Macallan Amber 

Thursday 8th 6pm Highland
One of the top selling malts in the UK. Try the 10-year-old Glenmorangie Original, and two from the 'Prestige' range, Glenmorangie 18-year-old and Glenmorangie Signet

Friday 16th of May - Island - From 5pm
Famously distinctive island malt from Skye. Talisker matched with oysters!

Tuesday 20th From 6pm  of May - Lowland
The Edinburgh malt. Glenkinchie 

Thursday 22nd - From 6pm  of May - Something Different
Whisky oak aged beers from local Edinburgh brewers, Innis & Gunn

Thursday 29th From 6pm -  of May - Islay
The peatiest of them all. Three expressions from Ardbeg; 10-year-old, Uigeadail and Corryvreckan
