In anticipation of Harvey Nichols Edinburgh’s 10 year anniversary, they  are delighted to announce the opening of the new look Forth Floor Restaurant, Bar & Brasserie in mid February 2012.  The brand new interior will combine warm textures of wood and leather with a classic colour palette of dark claret red and walnut, and a luxurious finish to create an inviting dining space. 

 

New features will include a bespoke stand alone seafood bar seating 6 clad in walnut wood, an exclusive private dining room and a relaxing lounge area offering unspoiled views across the city’s historic skyline.

 

Harvey Nichols opened in Edinburgh in 2002 and quickly established itself as one of the city’s top eateries and has remained at the forefront of the capital’s culinary scene.  The original sleek and stylish design set a trend for Edinburgh’s dining culture.

 

Forth Floor Restaurant

Designed by CDA architects, responsible for the Multrees Walk development and Westfield’s Eat Gallery in London, the new look Forth Floor Restaurant will offer a more intimate fine dining experience with the inclusion of leather booths and an adjacent lounge area to relax and enjoy after dinner drinks.

 

With award winning Executive Chef Stuart Muir still at the helm after 9 years, the focus continues to be on sustainability and supporting local Scottish produce, using responsibly sourced ingredients.

 

“I have a real passion for fresh produce and quality ingredients, and what better resource is there than Scotland’s larder. I love to challenge traditional combinations by introducing unexpected flavours from around the world,” says Stuart.

 

New dishes will include cured Scottish venison, herb pancakes, spiced plum chutney, whisky honeycomb and Asian salad; Scallop ceviche with jasmine, ginger scented tomato and almond cream; crispy spiced Aberdeenshire pork with whisky soaked prunes and cocoa nibs.

 

Forth Floor Brasserie

The Forth Floor Brasserie will increase in size and flexibility for larger parties, continuing to offer round the clock eating from a stylish breakfast to a light lunch to an à la carte supper.

 

Private Dining

For private dining for up to 14 guests the Window Bar will transform into a fabulous venue, ideal for small exclusive dinners, corporate functions and meetings.

 

Forth Floor Window Bar

The design for the Forth Floor Window Bar highlights the stunning picture window with its incredible views of the north of Edinburgh, Forth Estuary and Kingdom of Fife.  Subtle lighting and chilled out music will make for one of the best drinking scenes in Edinburgh city centre.

 

The extensive cocktail menu features signature creations such as the Forth Floor Smash, consisting of fresh strawberries, Champagne, Cointreau, Crème de Frais de bois and fresh lemon juice, as well as the Apple and Chamomile Martini. A list of over 350 wines will be available, as well as specialised beers and a selection of Champagnes.

The Forth Floor will be closed for extensive refurbishment from January 15th 2012 and will reopen mid February 2012. The Window Bar will remain open for the duration. For advance bookings call 0131 524 8350.
